Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Blue Rocks
|
The Blue Rocks earned a hard-fought, 3-2 win in 10 innings at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Frederick pitcher Preston Erickson. Erickson went 8 innings and allowed no runs. Wilmington reliever Garrett Youngblood got the win, raising his record to 10-7. Jose Romo was tagged with the loss. Wilmington now sits at 55-56, while Frederick falls to 52-59.
The Blue Rocks relied on right fielder Frank Chacon for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"It took some blood and sweat, but we got what we were after," said Blue Rocks manager Bobby Clontz.
