Potomac turned a good effort from starter Spencer Kobak into a win over the Lynchburg Hillcats at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. The final score was 2-0. Kobak yielded no runs over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. His record improves to 4-5. Eduardo Ralda closed the game out for Potomac, earning his 3rd save.

The Hillcats had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Nationals going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old third baseman John Maya came to the plate. Maya hit a solo home run on a full count fastball from Lynchburg hurler Pedro Martinez. It was Maya's 14th home run of the year.
