Pelicans Send Lynchburg Home with 6-3 Loss
Myrtle Beach pitcher Clint Madore had a large part in his team beating the Lynchburg Hillcats, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was Madore, now 14-5. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 7. Earning the save was Ryan LaBrasca. He's now cashed in 2 of 2 save opportunities.

Seth Hood had a big 2-run double for the Pelicans in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Myrtle Beach leading 4-3 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a slider from Juliano Capela and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 28th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pelicans ahead, 6-3.

"This team has the heart of a lion," said Pelicans manager David Larson.

Myrtle Beach improves to 77-36 with the win. They lead their division by 28½ games.
