The Carolina Mudcats weathered an outstanding game by Potomac left fielder Jorge Ruiz to topple the Nationals, 4-2. Ruiz hit 2 home runs. Despite the win, Carolina still has a pathetic 27-87 record.

Luiz Innis, the Carolina designated hitter, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 3-2, Mudcats. For the game, Innis went 1 for 2 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
