The Lynchburg Hillcats earned a close win over the Frederick Keys, thanks in part to Steve Gallagher. The Lynchburg left-hander, who is tied for 9th in the CAR in strikeouts with 128, played a key role in the 3-1 victory. Ryan Kelly earned his 15th save, after closing out the game. Lynchburg is now 77-38, Frederick 74-41.

The Keys had few good swings against Gallagher, the left-hander, who threw 99 pitches over 7 innings. He allowed just 1 run on 1 hit.

"We've been playing some good baseball," Gallagher told the Lynchburg News. "We're aggressive and focused on what we're going to do on the field and getting it done."
