Pelicans Pick Up 3-1 Win Over Winston-Salem
|
Myrtle Beach Pelicans starter Sam Delcour pitched a good game to help his team take down the Winston-Salem Dash, 3-1. Delcour got the win, improving to 7-1. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. With the victory, the Pelicans record stands at 63-52.
Myrtle Beach used a clutch at-bat from Mike Orlandi to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Pelicans ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Myrtle Beach skipper David Larson.
