Lynchburg and Frederick slugged it out for in 10 innings. Hugo Quevedo, in particular, was outstanding. The Lynchburg right-hander helped his team knock off the Keys, 2-0. Luis Diaz, now 5-1, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. The first-place Hillcats improved to 72-44.

Lee Foster provided a timely hit. The Lynchburg pinch hitter delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hillcats on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"That was a really good outing by Hugo," said Lynchburg manager Diego Perez.
