LaBove Excels, But Blue Rocks Win
The home crowd had a good time watching the Potomac Nationals and Wilmington Blue Rocks get after it.

The Wilmington Blue Rocks had to overcome a big game from Potomac shortstop Kurt LaBove to leave Daniel S. Frawley Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning 7-5. LaBove belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Wilmington reliever Carlos Encinas picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Mario Castillo shouldered the loss.

Drew Burris, who is tied for 3rd in the CAR in home runs with 14, contributed to the Wilmington win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"This was a good win for us," said Burris. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."

With the win, Wilmington has a record of 67-48. Potomac falls to 53-63.
