Behind the hitting of Mike Reed, the Lynchburg Hillcats stopped the Potomac Nationals, 7-3. Reed was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Hillcats. Eric McQuiston locked down his 2nd save. Lynchburg, at 59-58, sits in second place in the Northern Division.
Lynchburg got a big at-bat from Querétaro, Mexico native Hector Nunez, who in the top of the fourth hit a run-scoring triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Hillcats ahead, 2-0.
"We came in and did what we needed to do," said Lynchburg manager Diego Perez.
