The Myrtle Beach Pelicans topped the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 8-6, with youngster Nankai Hudkins playing a key role. Hudkins was 3 for 5 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Pelicans in the win. The winner was Eric Lombardo, who threw 112 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 6 runs on 13 hits. Picking up the save was Steve Jackson, his 9th.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Pelicans grabbed the lead when Hudkins hit his 3rd triple of the season. The 2-run triple off Robert Gastelum made it 7-5, Myrtle Beach.
