Keys Pull Off Thrilling 7-4 Win in Extras
|
The Potomac Nationals got a sterling performance from pitcher Pete Buettner, but the Frederick Keys still prevailed, 7-4. Buettner threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Frederick pitcher Adrian Torrez got the win. He's now 6-6. Juan Burgos was tagged with the loss. Frederick is now 52-67.
The most important at-bat for Frederick came in the top of the tenth inning. With no one out, Steve Giltner reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 1 run, putting Frederick up, 5-4.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Giltner.
