Hillcats Win with Late Heroics
Lynchburg starter Jeremy Patterson pitched well against the Wilmington Blue Rocks at Ed Smith Stadium. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3, in 12 innings. The win went to Miguel Gauna in relief, making him now 1-0. Armando Cordova took the loss for Wilmington. Lynchburg is now 79-40, 3½ games up in the Northern Division.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the 12th, an error by the Blue Rocks allowed the Hillcats to score the winning run.

"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Patterson said.
