Fitzsimons 3-for-4 to Ignite Pelicans Offense
Pelicans second baseman Eric Fitzsimons left his imprint on his team's 5-4 win over the Potomac Nationals. Fitzsimons was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for Myrtle Beach in the contest. The win belonged to Ben Reed in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ismael Barreto took the loss for Potomac. The 'W' lifts Myrtle Beach's record to 81-38.

Myrtle Beach used the timely hitting of Nate Barr to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pelicans on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Enjoyed this one," Barr told the Myrtle Beach Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
