Harvey Reyes could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Lynchburg Hillcats lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Carolina Mudcats at Grainger Stadium. The winner was Victor Barrera, who threw 87 pitches over 5 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits. The save went to Victor Serrano, number 1 for him.

Josh Zollo had a big solo home run for the Mudcats in the bottom of the third inning. With Carolina leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Harvey Reyes and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Mudcats on top, 3-1.

"Not enough offensively in a winnable game," said losing manager Diego Perez.
