Wilmington Wins, Allday goes 3-for-4
|
The Wilmington Blue Rocks downed the Frederick Keys, 7-2, at Harry Grove Stadium. Fred Allday led the way, going 3-for-4 for Wilmington. Joel Wiegand finished the game for Wilmington and earned his 3rd save. At 60-62, the Blue Rocks are currently second in the Northern Division.
Allday contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing triple, for Wilmington in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Allday took a sinker from Petteri Kuoppala and stroked the triple to right-center. His 3rd triple of the season allowed the Blue Rocks to leap in front, 3-1.
"We try to keep the mood light around here," said Allday. "Winning helps."
