The Carolina Mudcats picked up a win at Grainger Stadium, dropping the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 5-4. Gabe Espinoza, who is tied for 7th in the CAR in complete games with 2, was the difference-maker. The winner was Antonio Lujan in relief. His record improves to 8-9. Blake Patterson took the loss. The last-place Mudcats now have a record of 51-73.

The Mudcats got a clutch hit from center fielder Jared Miles. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Mudcats.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Miles told the Carolina Times.
