Wilmington shortstop Josh Gearhart contributed significantly to his team's 7-2 win over the Lynchburg Hillcats. Gearhart, who is tied for 10th in the CAR in doubles with 20, went 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Blue Rocks. The win was credited to 24-year old right-handed pitcher Katsumi Nagamine in relief. His record improves to 9-7. Steve Gallagher took the loss. The Blue Rocks win now puts them at 56-69.

In the bottom of the first, 22-year old second baseman David Ramos hit a 3-run home run. The 8th home run of the season for the Wilmington second baseman put the Blue Rocks on top, 3-0.

"Feels good to get the job done," Ramos said after the game.
