In a low-scoring affair between the Salem Red Sox and the Wilmington Blue Rocks, pitcher Brad Hammock was the difference between victory and defeat. The Salem right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Red Sox win. Hammock got the win, improving to 2-4. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs.

Salem second baseman Andy Cotner helped the Red Sox go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Cotner hit a run-scoring single off Wilmington pitcher Vinny Nieto.
