The Frederick Keys topped the Potomac Nationals, 6-1, in Carolina League action at Harry Grove Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Frederick third baseman Oscar Barriga. Juan Garza got the win, improving to 9-7. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 6 and walking 2. With the victory, the Keys record now stands at 55-71.

Eddy Carpio, who is tied for 7th in the CAR in extra base hits with 36, helped out the Frederick cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the right fielder went 2 for 5 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Barriga told the Frederick Daily News. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
