The Winston-Salem Dash topped the Salem Red Sox, 4-2, in 10 innings at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Winston-Salem pitcher Alfredo Silva. Winston-Salem reliever Antonio Cruz picked up the win, raising his record to 2-2. Tom Mooney was tagged with the loss. By defeating Salem, the third-place Dash improved to 67-60.
Winston-Salem took advantage of an error in the top of the tenth inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Danny Ramirez hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Dash in front, 3-2.
In postgame comments, Silva said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
