Frederick Keys starter Steve Johns was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Potomac Nationals, 2-1. Bobby Olvera earned the save, his 3rd. Frederick currently is in last place in the Northern Division at 56-71.

The Keys got a big at-bat from first baseman Alex Gil. For the game, Gil was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Frederick a 2-1 lead.

"This was a game where every at-bat, every pitch counted," said Johns.
