Rangel Helps Nationals Run Win Streak to 5
|
G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Frederick Keys and Potomac Nationals.
The Potomac Nationals topped the Frederick Keys, 5-4, with youngster Andres Rangel playing a key role. Rangel was 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Nationals in the win. Alberto Diaz picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-5. He struck out 5 in 8.2 innings. Ismael Barreto got the save, his 4th in 4 chances.
Potomac took a 5-1 lead on Rangel's 7th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Dan Tarshis in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Potomac to the win.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Rangel.
After today's action, Potomac sits at 62-68, while Frederick falls to 58-72.
