Frederick got a terrific game from second baseman Alex Diaz. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Winston-Salem, 5-2. Diaz went 3-4 with 2 home runs. Reynaldo Briones, the winner, improved to 4-4. He held the Keys to 1 run on 6 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The win gives Winston-Salem a season record of 70-60.

Jonathan Dobbs's at-bat in the top of the sixth was significant, coming with runners on 1st and 2nd and the game tied, 1-1. The Winston-Salem right fielder hit a run-scoring single off Edwin Franco to put the Dash up.

"We did enough to win," said Dobbs.
