Keys Pick Up 2-1 Win Against Winston-Salem
|
The Frederick Keys claimed a close win over the Winston-Salem Dash, due in large part to Moises Flores. The Frederick right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. Flores, the winner, moves to 9-2. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 2 walks. Justin Ramsey earned save number 4 this season.
Joe Brumley had a big run-scoring double for the Keys in the bottom of the first inning. With Frederick leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Diego Puete, who is tied for 8th in the CAR in strikeouts with 139, and swatted a double to center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Keys ahead, 2-0.
Brumley told the Frederick Bulletin: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
The first-place Dash now sit at 77-53.
