Blue Rocks Pick Up 2-0 Win
|
Wilmington right-hander Justin Richardson pitched his team to victory over the Winston-Salem Dash at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. The final score was 2-0. The Blue Rocks raised their record to 77-54.
The Dash had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Blue Rocks going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old shortstop Luis Palacios came to the plate. Palacios hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch cutter from Winston-Salem hurler Angelo Marquez. It was Palacios's 10th double of the year.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Palacios said.
