Blue Rocks Earn Win with Late Rally
The Wilmington Blue Rocks had to overcome a fine effort from Potomac pitcher Jesse Kennedy to win, 2-1, at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. Kennedy went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Tom Gabriel, now 10-9, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 6.1 innings. Wilmington bumps their record to 59-73 with the win.

Zeke McBean came through with a big-time hit for Wilmington. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Blue Rocks manager Bobby Clontz.
