Starting pitcher Steve Walat did his part in helping the Wilmington Blue Rocks thwart the Winston-Salem Dash, 2-1. Luis Alvarez got the save, his 7th in 8 chances. Wilmington is now 68-64, Winston-Salem 51-81.

In the bottom of the 5th, Wilmington took the lead on a 2-run double by Matt Myers. At the time, the Blue Rocks were trailing 1-0, but Myers's hit with two outs against Winston-Salem pitcher Tony Coronado put them in front, 2-1.
