Nationals Take Tight Tilt, 3-2
Potomac starter Brent Koehne pitched well against the Frederick Keys at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Xavier Crawford recorded the save, his 5th. With the win over Frederick, the Nationals improved to 59-76.

Had Mike Hurst not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Hurst hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Nationals.

"Not to put too fine a point on it," said Koehne, "but we really needed that win."
