Blue Rocks Reel Off Another Win
The Wilmington Blue Rocks downed the Salem Red Sox, 5-1, at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium. Stellar pitching by Luis Lopez had a lot to do with it. The left-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Wilmington has now won 6 straight.

Wilmington used the timely hitting of John Gilbert to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blue Rocks on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Luis -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Blue Rocks manager Bobby Clontz. "He was the key to us winning."
