Starting pitcher Roberto Fernandez took care of business, helping the Lynchburg Hillcats stifle the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 2-0. Miguel Rivera snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Jeff Termaat suffered the loss. The Hillcats improved to 83-53.

Lynchburg got a knockout punch from Jose Mora. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"It's great to see the crowd jacked up," Mora said.
