Blue Rocks Suffer 10-7 Home Defeat
A good performance from third baseman Ricardo Rivera helped the Carolina Mudcats defeat the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 10-7. Rivera went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs for the Mudcats. The win went to Travis Takacs in relief, making him now 2-1. Alex Cantu took the loss for Wilmington. The Southern Division-leading Mudcats have a record of 84-53.

Carolina used the timely hitting of Jose Fuentez to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mudcats on top, 9-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Very good win for our guys," said Rivera.
