Red Sox Decked By Mudcats, 10-0
|
The Carolina Mudcats coasted to a win over the Salem Red Sox, 10-0. Jose Mora had a good day at the plate for Carolina. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Carolina, at 72-65, holds down third place in the Southern Division.
The Mudcats got a big boost from right fielder Carlos Oliveros who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first inning off Red Sox hurler Henri Mariotto. It was his 30th RBI of the season and put Carolina on top, 1-0.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Salem manager Arturo Cobian. "They smoked us."
