Lynchburg's Dan Ford brought his best stuff to Ed Smith Stadium, shutting down and shutting out the Winston-Salem Dash, 3-0. He racked up 10 strikeouts, surrendered 1 hit, and issued no walks on his way to the victory.

"We barely made him work at all," Winston-Salem manager Sam Simmons said later. "Lynchburg could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted."
