Murphy goes 3-for-4 to Fuel Hillcats Offense
The performance of Joe Murphy proved critical in helping Lynchburg beat Winston-Salem, 10-7. The Hillcats left fielder went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Lynchburg reliever Jim Berns picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Danny Enriquez took the loss. Lynchburg, at 72-67, holds down second place in the Northern Division.

Dan Lantz hit a 2-run double off Danny Enriquez in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Hillcats in front, 8-6. In addition to the double, Lantz had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.
