Wilmington Sent Home with 3-2 Loss
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Potomac Nationals and the Wilmington Blue Rocks, pitcher Jorge Salas was the difference between victory and defeat. The Potomac right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Nationals win. Potomac is now 65-74. Wilmington is 64-75.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Nationals had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the seventh, when center fielder Ben Fike hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Armando Rosa and made the score 3-2, Nationals. Fike went 2-4 with 2 singles.
"I try to not think too much," said Fike.
