The Winston-Salem Dash rode a solid performance from 24-year-old starting pitcher Alfredo Arredondo to a win, beating the Lynchburg Hillcats, 3-0, at Ed Smith Stadium. Hector Ruiz closed it out for Winston-Salem, earning his 4th save. The first-place Dash improved to 75-64.

Winston-Salem used the timely hitting of Guillermo Antelo to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dash on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Arredondo was in a reflective mood after the contest. He told the Winston-Salem Bulletin, "Every game is it's own challenge. That's what keeps the competitive fire alive."
