Slumping Dash Lose 6th Straight
The Winston-Salem Dash got a superb performance from pitcher Jose Velazquez, but the Lynchburg Hillcats still won the game, 5-4. Velazquez threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Lynchburg reliever Willie Alvarez picked up the win, while Shawn Trace took the loss for Winston-Salem. The first-place Hillcats are 97-43.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 24-year old left fielder Jonathan Andrade had a chance to be the hero. Winston-Salem pitcher Shawn Trace wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Andrade hit a sacrifice fly. The Hillcats had themselves a thrilling win.

"Drama and more drama," said Hillcats manager Diego Perez. "That's baseball at its finest."
