Wet weather did not postpone the Frederick-Lynchburg ballgame.

Frederick Keys starter Tom Mitchell pitched his team past the Lynchburg Hillcats, 6-2. Mitchell, who leads the CAR in strikeouts with 211, went the distance for Frederick. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits.

The fans who filled the stands at Harry Grove Stadium to watch the Carolina League action seemed to enjoy the game.

"Tom gave us a heck of an effort," said Frederick manager Jeremy Smejkal.

The 'W' lifts Frederick's record to 92-48.
