Tortugas Win Thriller, 4-3
|
The Dunedin Blue Jays got a superb performance from pitcher Antonio Dunbar, but the Daytona Tortugas still won the game, 4-3. Dunbar threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. Daytona is off to a hot start at 4-0.
The Tortugas were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 23-year old left fielder Kelvin Villas landed a big blow. He turned a 2-2 sinker from Eric Burnham into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Jackie Robinson Ballpark denizens into a frenzy and sent the Tortugas home with a thrilling 4-3 win.
Villas described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
