Dan Simonds led Brevard County to a win over St. Lucie. The final score was 6-4. The shortstop had a huge performance. He whacked 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. The win was credited to Gregg Dils in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Mike Dulude took the loss. Brevard County, now 8-1, is setting the league on fire so far.

Simonds had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-2 cutter from Mike Dulude, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Manatees a 6-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Simonds.

"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Brevard County manager Rick Mitchell.
