Flying Tigers Stick Yankees with 7-1 Loss
Tampa had no answer for 23-year old right-handed pitcher Ricardo Batista. The Lakeland Flying Tigers starter stymied Yankees hitters, helping the Flying Tigers cruise to victory, 7-1. The winning pitcher was Batista, now 1-2. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. With the loss, Tampa drops to 7-10.

In the bottom of the third, Mike Worden delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Lakeland designated hitter hit a run-scoring single, putting the Flying Tigers in front, 7-1.

"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Batista.
