In a low-scoring tilt between the Tampa Yankees and the Daytona Tortugas, 21-year old right-handed pitcher Mario Guadamuz was the difference-maker. The Tampa right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Guadamuz got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 0 over 8.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. The save went to Vinny Lopez, his 1st this season.

Tony Herrera had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the eighth for Tampa. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Tampa in front, 3-0.
