Blue Jays Handle Hammerheads, 6-1
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Dunedin Blue Jays and Jupiter Hammerheads.
Dunedin starter Nick Bondi pitched well against the Jupiter Hammerheads at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-1. Dunedin reliever Nick Bondi got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Javier Sanchez was tagged with the loss.
Brandon Garvin went 1-3 with a walk. He drove in 3 runs for Dunedin. The 22-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Javier Sanchez. It was his 8th walk of the season.
"I still think this team can play even better," Bondi told the Dunedin Times.
With the win, Dunedin lifts its record to 14-5.
