1-0 Loss to Marauders Extends Charlotte Losing Streak
|
The Marauders faced a stiff challenge from Charlotte pitcher Nelson Rodriguez, but persevered to claim a win at Calvin Falwell Field. The final score was 1-0. Rodriguez went 7.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Malik Barry, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-2. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 4 hits and no runs, while striking out 3 and walking 0. Charlotte drops to 2-19.
The Marauders got a big boost from designated hitter Sukeichi Yamada who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first inning off Stone Crabs hurler Nelson Rodriguez. It was his 13th RBI of the season and put Bradenton on top, 1-0.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Charlotte skipper Victor Beltran.
