Luis Sanchez imposed his will on the Threshers from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 Daytona triumph. Daytona reliever Aaron Humphrey picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Josh Russell was saddled with the loss. The win puts Daytona at 10-12.

Had Hyun-tae Yook not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Yook hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Tortugas.

Yook attributed the win to his team's "tenacity."
