Riding the 3-hit performance of the 25-year old center fielder Aaron Rowan, the St. Lucie Mets stopped the Daytona Tortugas, 4-2, in 9 innings. Curt Cooper was the winner. Over 6 innings, he yielded 2 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. With the win over Daytona, the Mets improved to 17-16.

St. Lucie used a well-timed hit by Cesar Perez to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mets ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
