McDowell Excels in 12-5 Palm Beach Win
The Palm Beach Cardinals cut down the Fort Myers Miracle by the score of 12-5, with the largest share of the credit going to second baseman Mike McDowell. McDowell went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 2 for the Cardinals. Dennis Galeana came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The second-place Cardinals sport a record of 23-11.

Nate Amirault had a big 2-run triple for the Cardinals in the bottom of the third inning. With Palm Beach leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Andres Rubio and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cardinals ahead, 3-0.

"We're producers not directors," said McDowell. "Produce a good swing. Can't direct where it goes."
