Clearwater and Lakeland put this game in the books despite some rain.

In a low-scoring game between the Clearwater Threshers and the Lakeland Flying Tigers, pitcher Luis Quintana was the difference-maker. The Clearwater left-hander was tough as nails in the 3-2 Threshers win. The win makes Clearwater 21-15.

Clearwater used a well-timed hit by Ricardo Torres to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Threshers ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Torres. "I just want to win ballgames."
