It might have been a rain-shorted game, but the hometown crowd didn't seem to mind.

The Bradenton Marauders defeated the Tampa Yankees, 4-0, in Florida State League action at Calvin Falwell Field. Bradenton pitcher Malik Finley had a standout performance. Finley, now 4-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no runs.

The Marauders got a big at-bat from designated hitter David Rodriguez. For the game, Rodriguez was 1-2 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Bradenton a 2-0 lead.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Bradenton skipper Jeremy Littlefield.

Bradenton sits in third place in the FSL South at 19-20.
