Charlotte got a big-time effort from pitcher Jimmy Thompson, but it wasn't enough to keep the Fort Myers Miracle from winning the game, 2-0. Thompson threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. With the win, the Miracle sit at 30-12.

Fort Myers used the timely hitting of Alex Ybarra to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Miracle on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It was a well-pitched game," Charlotte manager Victor Beltran said.
