The Daytona Tortugas handed the Clearwater Threshers a sound defeat, 11-2, at Bright House Field. Ivan Gallegos was a main contributor to the win. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice for Daytona. Alex Gonsalez earned the win to go to 5-2. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts in 8 innings of work. Clearwater is in the throes of a 14-game skid.

Daytona used the timely hitting of David Clinkscale to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Tortugas on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
