Marauders Stop Flying Tigers, 7-5
|
Lakeland designated hitter Victor Costales had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Costales went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, even as Bradenton beat the Flying Tigers, 7-5. The Marauders raised their record to 17-29.
Mike Sanderson, the 21-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Sanderson contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Bradenton up, 1-0.
In postgame comments to the Bradenton Daily, Sanderson said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
