The Fort Myers Miracle topped the Dunedin Blue Jays, 5-3, in Florida State League action at Hammond Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Fort Myers pitcher and Boulder Hill, Illinois, native Joe Donnelly. Donnelly got the win, improving to 5-1. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 3 runs. The Miracle now have a record of 32-14.

Angel Velez had a big 3-run home run for the Miracle in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Fort Myers leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Glen Trecker and swatted a home run to center. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Miracle ahead, 5-0.

Donnelly attributed the win to his team's "determination."
