Rallying Blue Jays Get 3-2 Win
|
Starting pitcher Franklin Castro fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Dunedin Blue Jays stymie the Palm Beach Cardinals, 3-2. The winner in relief was Eric Burnham. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 3-3. With the victory, the Blue Jays upped their record to 31-16.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Israel Marquez? The 23-year old catcher Marquez stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Dunedin up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Greg Cary.
